SAP Addresses Business Disruption Around COVID-19

SAP

Safety and well-being continue to be the top priority across the world as we manage through the deepening effects of the coronavirus. All businesses are facing unprecedented challenges right now as the impact on the global economy continues. Business work processes are being disrupted, events are cancelled, and supply chains have been weakened.

SAP was founded nearly 48 years ago with a very clear purpose: to help the world run better and improve people’s lives. Right now, we are leading through our purpose by opening access to technologies that can help employees, companies, communities, and governments continue to move forward.

“The spread of COVID-19 has shown that businesses that have gone digital in their operations are in a better position to weather the storm than their traditionally-operated counterparts”, said Verena Siow, Managing Director, SAP Indochina. “Opening access to SAP technology further reaffirms our commitment to help businesses to not only navigate through this difficult time, but to be ready for the post-outbreak era. I look forward to seeing Thai businesses take advantage of this free offering from SAP to improve their business processes and upskill their workforce so they can turn crisis into opportunities and flourish once COVID-19 is successfully contained”.

SAP has made the following offerings available immediately, at no cost:

Managing Remote Work & Learning Environment:

Staying connected with your stakeholders and acting quickly on their feedback is mission critical during times of uncertainty. We have launched a series of free solutions to help employees, companies, educational institutions, communities, and governments stay connected.

• Remote Work Pulse by Qualtrics  helps you understand if your organization is prepared for a remote workforce, and if your employees have what they need to succeed in this new environment. The questionnaire will allow you to understand the resources and information employees require for their work and enable them to feel productive and be successful.

• The ongoing development surrounding COVID-19 has led to customers re-evaluating who they buy from. COVID-19 Customer Confidence Pulse will help your organizations to understand the expectations and requirements of your customers related to the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure they have the confidence they need to keep doing business with you.

• As more schools shift to a remote learning model, staying connected with your frontline teaching staff is more critical than ever. The Remote Educator Pulse will help ensure that faculty is prepared to deliver remote learning programs, while connecting you to their ongoing experiences so you can drive continuous impact.

• A lightweight project management and collaboration tool to optimize processes, Ruum by SAP has created two custom checklist templates, adapted from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to help businesses and individuals plan, prepare, and respond to COVID-19. These custom templates can be easily used by businesses, nonprofits, families, individuals, or anyone who needs a starting point to create a plan. Access the templates for free here.

Managing Supply Chain:

• To help buyers gain visibility into the health of their suppliers and proactively analyze the overall risk associated with potential disruptions in their supply chains, SAP combined the procurement and experience management expertise of SAP Ariba and Qualtrics solutions to create Qualtrics Supply Continuity Pulse solution. Buyers can issue a questionnaire to suppliers and receive results immediately after suppliers respond. This supplier feedback can be used to help business leaders identify potential supply constraints, gauge business continuity and recovery plans, and offer assistance to suppliers

• For 90 days, beginning March 10, 2020, we are opening access to SAP Ariba Discovery so any buyer can post their immediate sourcing needs and any supplier can respond to show they can deliver. Free to post. Free to respond. Open to everyone. Access to SAP Ariba Discovery will help buyers and suppliers connect quickly and effectively, and minimize disruption caused by shipment delays, capacity issues and increased consumer demand in times of crisis. SAP operates the largest business network in the world, representing more than 4 million suppliers in over 180 countries and $3.7 trillion in commerce on Ariba Network. We can help make the connections to keep the supply chain intact, that ultimately have an impact on the everyday consumer.

• Working together with qualified channel partners, SAP will enable scenario planning through the Planning as a service with the SAP Integrated Business Planning for Supply Chain solution to help evaluate the supply chain impact, supply options and financial implications. Customers will be able to simulate demand shifts and impact of production rate changes to eliminate bottlenecks and build stronger resilience.

Digital Learning:

• The openSAP platform provides massive open online courses (MOOCs) to anyone interested in learning about leading technologies, the latest innovations and the digital economy and now they are free of charge. Course topics include automated robotic process automation, data science, machine learning, ethical artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), sustainability, Java programming and more.

• SAP provides 90-day access to four selected learning journeys for students interested in preparing digitally for a career in the SAP ecosystem and studying at one of the over 3,800 member universities in the SAP University Alliances program. Areas of study include scope and business processes specific to SAP S/4HANA®, the SAP S/4HANA Cloud Finance solution, the SAP® SuccessFactors® Employee Central solution and Modeling in SAP HANA®. These tools help students prepare for an exam to achieve SAP Global Certification from SAP on specific subjects. One exam attempt is included for free. The package can be accessed here.

There is a lot of uncertainty and fear around the world right now as we collectively fight COVID-19. SAP technologies can be a resource to help support companies in Thailand address these challenges.
