Gojek, Southeast Asia’s leading mobile on-demand services and payments platform, today announced the official launch of the Gojek app in Thailand. Starting from 6:00am this morning, customers in Thailand can access services for food delivery (GoFood), motorbike ride-hailing (GoRide), courrier (GoSend) and e-wallet (GoPay) via the Gojek app, which is available for download via iOS and Android. It features a new and improved look and feel as well as multiple feature upgrades to reduce life’s daily frictions with enhancements to customer experience and security.
The move follows GET’s recent announcement that it would unite its app and brand under Gojek as part of its long-term strategy to make a lasting positive impact and accelerate innovation for its customers in Thailand. GoViet, the company’s operation in Vietnam, was relaunched as Gojek on August 5 and was met with enthusiasm by users, generating millions of new bookings in its first few weeks of operation.
Gojek co-CEOs Kevin Aluwi and Andre Soelistyo, said: “Today marks a significant moment in Gojek’s journey, and in our long-term commitment to Thailand. We’re grateful to our incredible Thai team, headed by Pinya, who will lead us into this new chapter and for the many customers, partners and other valued stakeholders in Thailand who have supported us along the way.
We continue to see immense potential for growth and impact in the country, and we’re proud and excited to introduce the Gojek experience to an existing and new generation of users in Thailand.”
Pinya Nittayakasetwat, Country General Manager, Gojek Thailand, said: “Our customers and driver and merchant partners are at the heart of this exciting next step. More than a rebrand, we’re delivering three new Super Apps in Thailand – the Gojek app for consumers, GoPartner app for drivers and GoBiz app for merchants – each built on world-class technology that will enable us to more efficiently roll out new offerings to adapt and scale to Thai user needs and priorities.
“We appreciate all who have continued to place their trust and support in us since the earliest days as GET. Joining us on this first day of our next chapter as Gojek are more than 50,000 driver partners and 30,000 merchant partners, as well as our strategic partners like Siam Commercial Bank, The Mall Group and many more. Together, we’ll be able to take what we’ve already achieved to new heights, as we transform user experience, innovate more quickly increase income-earning opportunities and create a lasting positive impact in Thailand for years to come.”
New features introduced today include a simpler, more seamless user interface; ‘Dish likes and favorites’, which enables users to like and save their favorite dishes within GoFood for future orders; ‘Consumer-to-Consumer Chat’, an in-app instant messaging feature that allows users to chat and share their favorite merchants or dishes with friends; and ‘Invite Friends’, a referral feature that allows users to easily recommend the Gojek app to friends.
Gojek is also introducing a new service, ‘GoFood Pickup’, which enables users to order in advance and get food quickly and cheaply from nearby food establishments without waiting in line. GoFood Pickup is in a pilot phase with over 500 participating merchant outlets in the city central area.
Gojek users can now also access the Gojek app in all countries where it operates including Vietnam, Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand.
Gojek’s driver and merchant partners will also benefit from today’s launch. The new GoPartner app for drivers features a more convenient registration process for new Gojek drivers, while existing driver partners will see an improved user interface with a more seamless work experience.
The new GoBiz app for merchants includes new features like ‘chat head notifications’ to allow merchants to receive new order notifications – even when the app is closed – various improvements to the help center, and ‘merchant partner and super partner badges’ which help users identify partners with guaranteed quality service.
